SAMPLE PROJECT LIST

I am a well-seasoned marketing professional with experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. My previous work experience in marketing, communications and event management has been a benefit to identifying opportunities that will mutually benefit the cause and a prospective partner. I have exemplary interpersonal skills which is also an asset when managing existing partnerships and cultivating new ones. Having spent 9 years in the event and sponsorship industry in the UK, I have a broad understanding of both the local and international markets.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT OF BC (JABC) 2023 ONWARDS
Working with the Team at JABC to support the delivery of the Annual BLBC Gala, Discover Your Pitch and Techworks.

NATURE TRUST OF BC 2023 ONWARDS
Supporting The Nature Trust in delivering their Annual Fundraising Gala. Most recently I worked with the Vancouver Island team to deliver the Estuary Resilience Symposium bringing together 15 First Nations to share findings of a 5 year research project.

EASTER SEALS BC & YUKON 2017 - 2023

Supported this well established charity in creating a new event called "Chrome & Cocktails" to engage with a new demographoc and acknowledge support of their exiting donors. Delivered Special Events Program that include National Bank Easter Seals Charity Regatta and Festival and Drop Zone.
​Supported Easter Seals in developing a 3rd party events and corporate donor strategy including developing a database and presentations to secure new partnerships. Bringing together corporations and communities to support individuals with disabilities. Working with organizations on their corporate social responsibility strategies to elevate their community profile, enhance their corporate image and encourage employee engagement. 


BMO VANCOUVER MARATHON 2012 - 2017

Established a new Sponsorship Strategy that was reflective of this marquee and well-established event that is now the largest Marathon in Canada and the 3rd largest Half Marathon in Canada. Secured new sponsors and offer account management service to support the over 30 Sponsors and Partners.

COASTAL FORD DEALERSHIP LAUNCH May 2015
Celebrating the local First Nation Community was the theme in this dealership opening and launch. Invited guests included the local community and Senior Ford Officials who enjoyed not just canapes but we celebrated the opening with a Welcome Totem Pole Ceremony.

GLUTEN FREE EXPO 2015 - 2016
Helped secure new Sponsors for this well established Gluten Free Show that attracts over 9,000 visitors and 100 Exhibitors.

WELSH ASSEMBLY GOVERNMENT

From 2002 - 2011 I was Head of Commercial Sponsorship and Marketing within the Major Events Unit, which had an annual budget of $9,600,000. I was responsible for negotiating all commercial sponsorship benefits for approximately 20 major events per calendar year, such as Ryder Cup Wales, Ashes Test Cricket Series, Rugby League World Cup 2013, Red Bull Speed Jam and Radio One’s Big Weekend. I also created and delivered a events and marketing plan that supported the brand values of Wales in and around a major event to create a sense of place…for example we created a Welsh Ryder Cup, not just a Ryder Cup.

Wales London 2012 Olympics Torch Relay Advisory Group

I was a member of the Wales Advisory Group that provided advice on the Olympic Torch Relay route within Wales to London 2012. This group’s responsibility was to advise London 2012 on the most impactful Torch Relay route in Wales but to also to create related major events in and around Wales.

Ryder Cup Wales 2010

Golf's Ryder Cup is a biennial golf tournament hosting the best players from Europe versus the best players from the USA. It is one of the most highly viewed television sporting events in the world.  The government allocated $100,000,000 over 10 years for this project and it was my responsibility to negotiate and establish a template of sponsorship benefits. This package of benefits was used from 2003 to 2010.

I also developed a program of events to support Wales as the Host Nation for Ryder Cup 2010 which included Media reception for 400 attendees, an evening with the Welsh National Opera at Wales Millennium Centre with dinner being on the stage for 350 guests, a private dinner and an evening on the grounds of Cardiff Castle hosted by The First Minister for Wales for 400 guests from the European Tour and the PGA.

Over a 5-day period 300 guests, who included global ambassadors and dignitaries were hosted from around the world with a bespoke itinerary provided for each guest.


Ryder Cup, Kentucky – 2008, Dublin – 2006, Detroit - 2004

I worked with the Ryder Cup 2010 Wales team to leverage the economic benefits of Wales hosting this tournament in 2010 and established the event program of hospitality at Ryder Cup Detroit 2004, Ryder Cup Dublin 2006 and Ryder Cup Kentucky 2008.  I created and implemented the program consisting of 3 receptions for 250 international guests, including global transport and lodging logistics.

Ashes Cricket Series 2009 – England versus Australia

The Ashes is one of the most celebrated rivalries in international cricket and an event where I was responsible for leveraging a 1.2 million pounds sponsorship for Wales to host a match during this most prestigious cricket series including all commercial benefits for Wales, and development benefits for the sport of cricket across Wales.

Clarence House Dinner with Prince Charles

In order to raise the profile of investment opportunities in Wales I managed a private dinner at Prince Charles' residence where 60 top companies from France were invited.  

Wales Rally GB

This is the British leg of the World Car Rally Championship attended by over 50,000 where I was responsible for leveraging the title sponsorship benefits, which included broadcast, hospitality and stakeholder involvement.  I also developed a Global Motorsport Conference around the rally and managed a hospitality program for global visitors for Inward Investment Opportunities with helicopter site tours etc.

Prince’s Trust Conference

I managed the Prince Charles' conference concerning Sustainable Development, which focused on the Sustainable Development agenda in the UK.  I was responsible for all security briefings and protocol for a Royal visit.

BioWales                             

I developed a conference that focused on the Bioscience sector in Wales and helped secure international speakers and create the conference format.

MRO Pheonix                     

I managed overseas representation of an aerospace exhibition in which WDA was profiled including international sales team presence at event.

Bryn Terfel Festival          

Established WDA as the title sponsor at a three-day outdoor concert featuring stars of Opera and Broadway and leveraged all opportunities by developing a high profile hospitality program with event organizers.  I managed all meet and greets with major international singing stars.


I SPY - Sony Pictures

I coordinated crowd movement and shot requirements for this 43 million-budget feature movie as well as on-site requirements (wardrobe, catering, outdoor tenting etc.), managing logistics and security screening for 1200 to 1500 extras per day and directed crew of 25 wranglers.

BELL YELLOW PAGES LAUNCH IN VANCOUVER, B.C. - Cossette Communications

I coordinated promotional launch and contest for Bell Telephone's Phone Directory with live broadcast of truck give-away street team of 8 to drive Bell branded trucks with game pieces and directory hand outs in key Vancouver locations; coordinated live television prize truck give-away.

SEAGATE SOFTWARE TRADE SHOW - Cossette Communications

I leveraged sponsorship packages at various tradeshows in Orlando (SAP), Philadelphia and Las Vegas; coordinated all elements and logistics for tradeshows across North America and established display elements and branding for individual trade shows and coordinated International Sales Executives attendance on-site.

JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS Movie - Universal Pictures

I promoted the film date/event utilizing various media campaigns and contesting elements; coordinated prize giveaways & entertainment for 4000 extras and secured band 'B-4-4' as headliner entertainment for event.  I was responsible for managing crowd shot requirements with assistant directors and extras and managed a team of 20 staff.

SAVING SILVERMAN (Released in UK as 'Evil Woman') - Sony Pictures

I promoted the film date/event utilizing various media campaigns and contesting elements including coordinating prize giveaways, entertainment and actors' crowd interaction and coordinating crowd shot requirements with assistant directors.
